Dale Crisp
Dale Crisp joined DCN in 1990 and continues to inject his knowledge, expert reporting and signature wit into its pages 34 years later. But his impact on this industry is not limited to his ongoing work with the publication.
Dale has been photographing ships since he was eight years old. Growing up in the port city of Burnie, his interest in shipping is lifelong, and his service to the industry recognised by anyone who’s ever engaged with maritime news in this part of the world.
A former colleague praised Dale’s incredible knowledge, contacts and insight in the sectors he covers. He described Dale as one of the best maritime journalists in the world today. And a respected maritime commentator and friend of 40 years said he holds no shipping writer in higher esteem, lauding Dale’s standard of writing, his integrity, his forthrightness and honesty. In the words of [Dave MacIntyre of New Zealand’s Shipping Gazette], “He deserves this honour - to be recognised and lauded by the industry he has served throughout his life.”
